A Surf Fisherman's Prayer
Lord of heaven and earth
On the 2nd day you created the sea, and said it was good.
Therefore, may I be truly thankful for this gift and learn from its divine goodness.
Help me to recognize this special time and place at the surf,
As a visit with you at the crossroads of heaven and earth.
Please make my senses alive to the symphony of life
Continuously played by this vast sea,
And allow me to hear its message echo through the depths of my soul,
As a preserver of who I strive to be.
May I see your touch in each wave and grain of sand,
And please help me to carry such visions to other places I travel, far removed from this.
Allow me to know you better after spending time here together today
And not to make trivial the needs of the world
Grant me the courage to look up to you and ask that, if it is your will,
"Today, I catch a fish!"

“A Fisherman’s Prayer”
"I pray that I may live to fish, until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray: When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep, that in HIS mercy I be judged, big enough to keep"
